I not only had no hair loss, but post-op it's started growing back even thicker!!
My Doctor and NUT think this is because I'm finally supplementing (i never did pre-op) and the ammount of protein I get in each day (100+grams)
I was so scared of hairloss too...so I started taking biotin at about one month before surgery and continue it still.
My doc explained before surgery that even with a good diet, some people's bodies respond to the shock of surgery or the anesthesia with some hairloss, but it's usually minimal and rarely noticable...
either way, the amazing new life ahead of you is worth a few weeks of using volumizer!...I promise!
Good luck to you! <3

Ok I don't want ot scare you just let you know another side of the story. I lost alot of hair post surgery. There were even a couple of small bald spots. I did have just enough hair that I was able to cover them up when I pulled my hair back. It stopped about 6 months out. At that point I started to use one of those shampoos that help grow hair. I did seee aome diffrence with that. I am about a year out now and it almost 100% grown back. LOL no more bald spots, and everything looks normal. I can just tell its still not as thick as it used to be.
One funny thing is that its grown back darker, and more curly.
Again I'm not trying to scare you. Just let you know what might happen. Anyways Hair-loss IS NOT, I repeat IS NOT a reason to not go through with surgery. i admitt it sucks, but it only last for for a few months at most, and it will grow back, and there are always ways to cover it up.

Im a little over 5 months out. Until i was about 3 months out i didnt lose any hair and thought i was going to be a lucky one and get out of it. I WAS WRONG lol for the last 2 months its been pretty bad- but ive noticed the last week or so its let up a lot. Mine was for sure the worst when i was in the shower- scared me at first i thought i was going bald haha but im fine and really happy its slowing down. :)

I have definitely experienced hair loss and the texture of my hair is so much more fragile and brittle. I have a picture of it on my profile if you want to take a look. I used to always have the nicest, thickest hair so I was surprised it changed so much. I am really good with protein and my vitamins so I don't know what gives. I didn't notice a specific time when it happened, I think it has just been a gradual change over the past year. A lot of people have said it grows back but I am just over a year out and it hasn't gotten any better yet. I guess to answer your questions, it can definitely happen to people our age but doesn't happen to everyone. I don't think there is any way of knowing. But, I would definitely prefer thin hair with my thin body than thick hair with my fat body!!
