I guess we all go through this... I feel so lost measuring the food... My doctor didn't give me a specific amount of food per intake, all I know is that I'm supposed to eat around 5 times a day to increase the metabolism and obviously they have to be very small amounts of food... my problem is that I'm used to having so large amounts that I feel I'm not eating well... or enough... so I have a bit more to make it feel like enough, and then I fell so full or I don't feel like eating the 5 times a day.... I don't know what to do...
I have an appointment with him tomorrow... so I can talk and see how the post op is going... I'll try yo see what advice he has for me, or if there's someone I can talk to... 'cause my shrink is outta town...
It just seems so had getting the brain used to this new process... cause my tummy is fine with the small amounts... but my brain is not.... Oh well... just needed to talk... I'll tel you guys tomorrow what he said...
Thanks for reading...

You should have your answers tomorrow... but.
Eating is completely different for us- even now at three years out I can't eat like I used to. The brain is used to seeing large plates of food... maybe get a smaller plate. That way it'll look like you're eating more than what you really are?
Good luck girl!

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.
Hopefully you got your answer - at your stage my meals were to only be 2oz total... but we are all given different guildeines :-)
As stated above... use a smaller plate, that should trick your brain some.. also read about mindful eating and start to practice it. I was also a volume eater, I had to learn to enjoy the food I was eating and listen to my body tell me it was full... pre-op I wasnt satisified until I was stuffed silly and all the food was gone... you will be amazed how you can get satisified off smaller amounts of food once you change how you are eating it :-)
Eating 5 times a day is rough... get on a food routine and stick to it... eventually it will become 2nd nature, like brushing your teeth in the morning. I eat around the same times each and every day even if I dont feel like it... I know I at least need a little snack no matter what so I can meet my nutritional goals and keep from being overly hungry later! Its a lot of work but it gets easier!
