Tuesday night we are leaving for Puerto Penasco, Mexico to meet up with some family for Thanksgiving. I'm really excited about it, but I was kinda hoping to be just alittle smaller (like 15 lbs smaller) Ive gone from a size 30 this summer to a size 20, but I was still hoping to be a size 16-18 when I went to mexico. My family and friends havent seen me since before the surgery at my highest and im finally back to what I was for years before I got pregnant and gained all of my weight. We are also going up to Phoenix to visit some friends we havent seen since we moved from there last year. I guess I just really want to look great because ive worked really hard to get where I have gotten thus far. Do people ever make comments about how much you have changed or do they just ignore it and not say anything? Ive experienced both, some of my family has really seen a big change and tell me all the time, but some ignore it and dont say anything to me about it.. Do you think they dont feel comfortable saying anything? Anyways.. I just really want to have a great time because im finally having much more self esteem and I feel much more comfortable now than I did 8 months ago. If I went 8 months ago I would have stayed in my hotel room the whole time and not go out, and do anything. Now I want to get out there and do everything and see everything. Im finally happy with myself and I want others to notice it too.

Commenting on weight loss is an iffy subject... especially if you, like many of us, have gone up and down in weight. Most of my close friends and family commented... those not so close didnt... I think because want to comment but they really want to know what you are doing and feel its rude or intrusive to ask why. There is always the fear that there is a bad reason that you are losing weight (one girl in our BBW group lost weight because she had an intestinal cancer and they had to operate and remove part of it, she never had any WLS but is a lot smaller now because of that). If these people do know that you had surgery and they are not commenting it could be plain ole jealously... or they feel enough other people are saying things to you why should they stroke your ego further? Who knows, its hard to say. To me having the support of my immediate family and good friends was enough... dont worry about other people that you really dont care about. If you care and they dont say anything then talk to them about it.

As for your comment about really wanting to look great... you dont need further weight loss for that, looking great really comes from the inside and how you present yourself. If you feel great then strut your stuff... get dressed up, find a hot out fit and rock it girl... its all about presentation.

First things first... a size 30 down to a 20?  OMG girlie, that's wonderful!!!!  You've done amazingly.  With all the action you're planning on your trip I wouldn't be suprised if you came back and needed 16s he he.

Comments from friends and family is almost a double edged sword.  There are times I feel my grandmother is slashing into me, but then I'm grateful for her brutal honesty.  I do agree with Jennifer, the comment making by those who don't know us as well may be hesitant.  Take them all- verbal or nonverbal and relish in the greatness you've accomplished.

Looking good?  You alllready do!  Curl/straighten your hair, throw on some glitter and strut your stuff.  Can't wait to see the pictures!!!!

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.

AWww thanks girls!!! Having the support from you all is all I need =)! haha. I really do feel great. I dont feel 100% yet but im close.. And I really am proud of where I have gotten so far. For about a year and a half I strictly just wore sweats and my hubbys big tshirts THAT I used to wear as PJs when I first met him. NOw im back to wearing them as pjs, and the sweats only come out when its bedtime. I cant explain how awesome it is to finally wear my jeans again with my cute shirts. I feel so much better. So thanks guys for the encouragement. Im just going to relax and not worry about anything this next week and just have fun. SO Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
