Hey everyone....I just had a quick question. I just realized that tomorrow is my 2 month post-op gastroscopy. I am freaking out. The thought of them having to stick a tube down my throat is really scary. Anyways, I was just wonderin if it is as bad as it sounds?? Can someone who has had it talk me through what goes on??? Thanks.

I had one pre-op and it was nothing. they gave me local anesthesia and I don't remember a thing. waking up from it wasn't bad either it just felt like whoops I kinda fell asleep. And my throat felt a tiny bit scratchy for the afternoon but not painful enough to take advil or anything, but I was less talkative for a few hours, haha. good luck tomorrow.
As someone told me lately, everyone deserves the chance to fly!

i didn't know this was a routine post-op procedure.  but if it's anything like having a stricture fixed, the whole things isn't bad at all.  you'll be given a light anesthesia to knock you out for a few minutes.  you won't even know the tube is inserted or removed.

take care,
heather
