A couple of questions

I am just barely in the 20s group, but I am not yet ready to turn 30 :)

A couple of quick questions.  I am supposed to be having a lap RNY.  How long did it take y'all to be back to your mobile, working selves.   I only have a week off, and I am wondering how bad it is going to be when I get back to work.  I figure we have to recuperate faster than those in their 50s, right?

Secondly, how long was it before you were able/interested in sex again?  I swear, my boyfriend asked me this yesterday, and I was totally stymied.

1. I had surgery on Tuesday, out of the hospital Thursday, worked 3 hours at my p/t job on Saturday and back to my regular job on Monday. The first week back to work I worked 9-1 and the second week back my normal 8-5 shift. I work a desk job, no lifting. Honestly I could have used the first week after surgery off but I toughed it out.

2. I was single at the time and wasnt really worried about it - I think the guidelines are whenever you feel comfortable.

1. I was ready to go back to work after a week but was a little tired so just take it easy.

2. My bf and I did it about 2 weeks after I had the surgery and we were just careful.  Make sure you don't put any pressure on your tummy.

1. I got back to work 1 week after surgery.  to get full mobility again it took me like a month to be myself again.

2.-you shouldn´t have anyproblem wit sex. but you are gonna have to wait until you are confortable again  `cuz mobility it`s dificul the 1th 2 weeks, so i will say 1-3 weeks.

I actually am taking a month off work (part for surgery and part for me)! I am 1.5 weeks out and could be at work, if I had to.

My husband and I actually just had sex a few days ago, so about 1 week. Like the others said, no pressure on the belly!

I feel better now,  I know everyone heals at their own rate and all, but I just didn't see needing that much time off work.  I will let you know later if I regret that :)

As for the one to two weeks for sex, I think my boyfriend is more relieved than I on that one! LOL

I was back to work in a week but I'm a 911 dispatcher and I work 12 hour shifts. They dropped it to 8 hours for two weeks. I was hurting so I took today off. I think everyone is different. My pain isnt so much like dying pain but definitely, pain where you want to rest your body a bit longer. I thought I could bounce back pretty quickly but my doctor compared it to my body going thru a major train wreck and that I had to give it time to heal. They wanted me to take an entire month off. Unfortunately, for me, thats not an option. Good luck to you but I think a month would've been perfect time. Everyone I know outside of this board said a month was perfect.

Eeek.... that's scary.  I am on my feet much of the day.

Oh well, I guess we'll see, right?
