I'm kind of bleh at the moment. They moved my surgery up to the 13th, which is SO exciting
but I'm on my second day of liquids & I won't lie, I sort of hate it. I'm trying to have a positive outlook & think I'm two days closer to my goal than two days further but it's just bleh. Any advice on protein shakes or anything I can do to keep myself from pulling my hair out?

Are you on clear liquids or can you do fulls?? If you can do fulls, try this protein shake... it's delish!!! and lovely for fall
1 cup water
1/4 cup fat-free half & half
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I like Lean Dessert from the VItamin Shoppe)
1/4 cup pure pumpkin puree
1/4 cup frozen sugar-free whipped topping, thawed
2-3 tablespoons Splenda Granular
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (or 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/8 teaspoon each ginger and cloves)
6 ice cubes
In a blender combine the water, half & half, Isopure Vanilla, pumpkin, whipped topping, Splenda, spices, and ice cubes. Process until smooth and thick. Serve with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. Makes one serving.
lol. I just wrote you asking about this- guess I have my answer. day 3 is a hump with the liquid diet, I found, and there's another one.... oh I can't remember. but hopefully after tomorrow you will notice it's a bit easier. I feel much sympathy, as one who is still on liquids... I was at least overjoyed to be able to have strained soup and things. each addition is feeling like a party now.
As someone told me lately, everyone deserves the chance to fly!
