Ok so I am doing my 3 month pre op diet to satisfy my insurance company....

Here is the deal, I have been on Adipex for the last 2 months, and I feel like all I do is roller coaster!  I will lose ten lbs, then the next week its right back on!  I am not changing anything other than working my ass off at the gym!?!?

Please tell me what I am doing wrong!  I am really trying to get some of this off, I want to live a long healthy life, and my family is so down on me about haveing WLS.  I told them I would put forth one more effort to lose weight the "old fashioned" but I really feel like its doing no good, and I REALLY AM WORKING AT IT!

If anyone has a regular diet plan I should do, (not diet like atkins, or grapefruit) like a real diet on how i can eat reg. and manage to drop a few lbs, I would really appreciate it!

I have managed to get my eliptical time up to 25 mins about a mile and a half usually about 4 times a week!  What am I doing wrong, is it the time of day Im going?  Im so confused...HELP!!!

Stick with it, stick with it! That is my only advice! I can't tell you how to eat before surgery, because I failed at that! But, since surgery I eat meat, lots of meat! Don't give up! It took me nearly three years to finally have it! It was worth the wait~ Holli

I agree with Holli. Don't give up. I know its really hard. I suggest portion control. eat slow, fiber w/ tons of veggies filling up on those, and just keep working out. You are doing great. I know you can do it. the longest part is waiting to be approved but once you have gotten through that everything else is quicker. I hope that helps.

hi girl. i know is hard. but it worth it. so hang in there.
unfurtunadly excersing it`s not  gonna make you lose weight if you don´t change your eating habits. you have to reduce your food intake. you can have same food. but reduce the carbs. i thing that`s teh key. eat a lot of salad and chicken or fish, tuna, eggs, vegetables, some fruit. and have a ligh dinner. that with your excersise will help. and you don´t have to worry about menus.
don´t skip any meal. and have healthy snacks. 2. if you don´t eat your metabolism is gonna turn slow so you have to keep eating healty foods. all day.

rember portions and excersice
hugs.

Hey Girl!

I am required by my surgeon to lose 14 pounds before he would schedule my surgery.  I don't see him again until next Friday, but am down the necessary weight.  What I did was tracked everything that I ate.  That has made me accountable for my actions.  That in itself was a big eye opener!  Also, my diet consists of alot of protein.  I eat alot of tuna made w/ fat free miracle whip on melba toast with some tomato slices and maybe a hard boiled egg or two.  For breakfast usually 2 hard boiled eggs and 1 slice of low-calorie toast with peanut butter.  For dinner, maybe veggies and a chicekn breast or more tuna and melba toast.  It has really worked for me and I am incredibly surprised by how full I was on just 1100-1300 calories a day.  I know its frustrating, but stick with it.  I'm sure it will all be worth it in the end!

did you get some type of menu as to what to eat?  i dont really know what is good for me and what isnt, ya know.  i mean i know i can eat chicken, green veggies, etc, but ya know.  i dont know what meals are things that are quick that i can just throw together.  (i have to get up EARLY in the mornings, not a lot of time to do a full breakfast.)

No-not really.  I just kind of put it together myself.  On the website where I track my food, it sets up the amount of calories I should be consuming based on weight, exercise, and amount wanted to lose per week.  So, I just stay within that calorie intake.  I totally understand your anxiety.  I'm the same way!  I usually buy a dozen or 2 of eggs.  Boil them one night, put them back in the container and put them in the fridge.  They are really easy to grab and go.  Also, the tuna kits are nice and convenient.  Or, I just grab a 3 oz pouch of tuna, a pack of melba toast, and ff miracle whip in a small container and toss it in a bag and go.  I will just mix the tuna up during lunch at work.  String cheese, beef jerkey, protein shots, etc are all things that I snack on.  I don't really have a set menu.  i just track everything that I put in my mouth and stay within the allowed daily calories.  Preperation is key.  I try to do whatever I can before hand, so I can just grab and go.  I don't eat breakfast until I get to my desk (I HATE getting up in the mornings!  lol).  I don't know if that is any help--but feel free to pm me if you want to.

I am really greatful that all of you are here!  this website has really been my saving grace....

I ment to clarify, I have been cutting back on what I eat, maybe I am eating the wrong type foods.  I dont know, I am going to continue to kick butt at the gym and eat more veggies, less carbs and more meat!

THANKS AGAIN GUYS!
