Does your plan not allow for carbs? My NUTs plan allowed for carbs without restrictions.... of course not meaning chips and cookies thou :-)
Are you food logging? Sometimes looking at things in black and white can help - you may think twice about eating chips/cookies once you look at how its effecting your daily nutrition. You should be 110% focused on meeting your nutritional goals and your main focus should be protein - lower protein item foods should only be consumed if you are able to meet your protein for the day - you dont want to 'waste' space on 'junk' when you could be filling it with protein.
I am a person of balance, early out I was allowed 1 bread/starch carb serving a day - keep in mind a post-WLS serving is small... so a few crackers, 1/2 a pita, 1/2 a slice of bread - when reaching for a bread/starch it should be WHOLE grain (not enriched) and have nutritional value (hello fiber!!!). If you want to have a treat now and then I do not see a problem with that, however if you cannot control yourself around the treat then you may need to make the decision to no longer eat that food or find a way to portion control yourself.
Also - ask yourself is it 'worth it'.... what are you getting out of eating that food? Do you feel crappy mentally/physically after eating it? Sometimes writing down how you are feeling when you want it, how you feel when you are eating it and how you feel after may help you see a pattern... it may help remind you in the future when you are wanting to reach for something if its worth it. Think back to when you were pre-op - why did you want surgery? what did you go thru to have surgery? What has improved in the 3 months since surgery? Is eating XXX worth not losing more weight? Is it worth regaining? Is XXX really that important to you?
Surgery doesnt 'fix' the mental - thats up to you - you realize what you are doing isnt good behavior so work on fixing that... it will take time, you will get frustrated, you will struggle but if you keep at it you can eventually get control and make peace with food and make better healthy choices.
