So, dumb me posted some long ol thing on the regular Lap-Band board until I realized theres a place for people who are having or had WLS in their 20's. Ya! Ok...yalll...so let me, copy and paste my other message and ignore all the references to being so young, I was talking to the whole entire age group.

SO....Hi everyone! Hope everyone is having a great Monday. My name is Nicole and I FINALLY got everything set up on here. I went today for my Pre-op, just blood work and vitals. I go Wednesday to go actually see my surgeon for my physical, yikes! My surgery, Lap-Band, is scheduled for October 17, which is fastly, very fastly approaching. I have many questions as I'm sure everyone does or did. My biggest concern right now is not drinking with my meals since I swear I could drink two or three drinks with each meal. Any advice with this? Also...I'm only 22 and although I do qualify for both Lap-Band and Gastric, I do not have an extreme amount of weight to lose, I tried to put up as many pictures as possible so I could get some advice. But I'm hoping that I will lose slow and since I am so young, and because of working out I won't have much extra skin. I guess I'm just asking for any advice in general...Anything you wish you would of known or anything you've learned along the way. I will keep everyone updated, because right now, I think this website is going to be a Godsend. Thanks in advance to everyone to replys.

There we go! So glad I found a place with people of the same age group and probably same questions and life style.

Welcome to the board Nicole!

There isn't a need to worry about drinking while eating- there just isn't enough room and you will definately learn not to if you do indeed take a sip.  Before my surgery I could go through tons of soda before the dinner even came, then some during dinner and more after... I know what you mean.

Not great advice on skin... depends with everyone.  More than likely it'll bonce back to some degree with proper care, but the stretch marks and what not vary and affect the elasticity.

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.
