Surgical consult Questions

Hey Everyone!

So, I am moving along in the process and am getting very excited but am kind of nervous about what to expect.  I had my psych appointment this morning and that seemed to go over well.  She gave me a run down of what she noticed and overall things were pretty good.  Now, with that behind me, I get to look forward to my first surgical consult this coming Wednesday (10/1).

Can you guys give me some input on what to expect from this consult?  I realize everyone's process was a little different, but I hate going into something completely blind!  lol  Any advice or experiences on your first consult with the surgeon would be appreciated!

Hello there!

Well when you meet up with the surgeon he is going to tell you about all the different surgeries and explain complications ect. He/she will weight you and take your height. Also, my surgeon with look under your stomach, bra and socks lol to look for rashes. Its not bad.

Mine done the same thing and pressed on my stomache (not sure what that was for, may to check for a hernia and tenderness?) He didn't check for rashes though. But had ask about them before. Then he sched. an endoscope, stress test  and a gallbladder ultrasound. I also had to do an exercise evaluation and I've had lab. work done.

hey girl first off, congrats on getting things rolling and moving one step closer :)

at my first consult, my doctor asked me which surgery i was choosing and why, also why i wanted my surgery to begin with. He checked out my tummy and just gave his honest opinion on what my expectations should be.
