Question: Will I be okay to go out to a show 10 days after my surgery?

Cirque de Solei is coming and I've been dying to see them and they are finally coming to my area for ONE day on Oct 30th! My surgery is Oct 21st! Can I do it? I know everyone is different but I'm hoping I can average it all out in some hopeful mathematical way so it's okay I go lol

It all depends on how you feel. I felt fine after like 7-9 days and was out and about like 5 days post-op, but I would get really tired and run down very quickly. I say plan for it, but dont pu**** if your not feeling good. Goodluck and congrats on your up coming surgery!!

Hey Tennille,
I had my surgery in Houston on a Tuesday and I was released on that Thursday and on that following Sunday, only 5 days after my surgery, my mom and I went to the movies. I took my nice little pillow that the hospital had given me and it seemed to be just fine. It was like a 2 hour movie. Plus, I thought the smell of popcorn would just kill me but it actually smelled burnt. My sense of smell is completely out of whack and has never been the same. LOL

I was out and about the week after my surgery...could have done more but tried not to push myself but looking back i wish i would have taken it even easier...but I don't think that a show would be that bad...just take a bottle of water with you!! Congrats on your surgery!!!

You'll probably be tired but you could do it! I've been up and moving, grocery shopping, playground, zoo etc since coming home from the hospital. I am 2 weeks out and went back to work today!

You should be fine...ENJOY!

It depends on how you take to the surgery.  For me at Day 10, concerts would have beent he furthest thing from my mind.  I was easily tired and fatigued and couldn't move that well, yet.  Or maybe you'll be a poster child and be at 100% and be good to go early.  It all depends on the person.

Well, I can tell you..
I am now two days out.. I had surgery on the 24th and came home earlier today..
I wasn't necessarily in pain..
but  I do have soreness and serious gas..
and then there's the sudden urgency to hit the bathroom...
When I gotta go.. I don't have too much of a grace period lol
I need to get there and get there soon..
So, I am not sure if I would want to deal with a crowd and that much excitement.. while trying to deal with all of this early on...
Although, you may feel different..
I would take it easy..
Cirque du Soleil will be back if you don't catch it this time..
Or, you can take a trip to see it after you are all healed!

Uhhh.... for me at 9 days out NO WAY was I feeling good enough to go anywhere.  The surgery hit me really hard and the pain meds knocked me flat.  Not saying this to scare you, because it was all very manageable. I just didn't anticipate how exhausted I'd be.  However, many other people jump right back after surgery and feel great.  It all depends on your body.  Just take it very very slowly.
