Finally home!! but Frustrated
Hey everyone! Well my surgery was Monday and I came home on Friday. Everything went really well and I don't have very much pain. BUT....I am having so much trouble with the food and the plan my nutritionist has me on. I am on the full fluids stage (you know cream soup and such) and will start of purees in about 10 more days. I feel like I am eating all the time though and don't have a chance to get hungry. I'm doing what I was told but all this eating and drinking is making me so uncomfortable. Anyways...anyone have a plan that worked for them after surgery. And also how long was it until you guys started back on more solid food like cheese and chicken and such?? Anyone that can help...i would love suggestions.
You're fresh out of the hospital, sweets... don't push yourself. Take one day at a time, but make sure to drink. I wasn't hungry at all for the first year, so don't expect it toooo much. You need to be comfy, so take your time.
Soft foods included cheeses and that was about three to four weeks.... chicken and others were a few more weeks out... I hope i remembered everything ha ha! One Day at a Time :)
*hugs*

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.
Definitely keep with your surgeons' plan. Trust me- in a month or two you'll laugh at yourself that you were so frustrated because once you look back, you'll realize it was such a short amount of time. I didn't feel hungry for the first 6 months or so? Then I started working out alot and then I started to feel hungry. But now it's like a healthy hunger if that makes any sense. I'm feeding my body what it NEEDS to thrive and still lose, as I have about 30 more pounds to go. Moral of the story- be patient. Go with the flow. Enjoy this beginning time where you're dropping weight like crazy and when you can just drink liquids and not feel hungry.
