I stepped on the scale when I got home but that's it and quite frankly Im afraid too, what if this isnt working? LOL  I know its silly but I cant help it.

How quickly did you step on the scale and then how often?
I was thinking monday I would, that would be one week from when I got home but then I dont know?

Anyone?

its normal to feel that this wont work. shoot i was feeling like that when i was just in my 7 week stall.  i didnt own a scale on purpose for the first 3 months. what i did is the only time i stepped on the scale was at my 2 week 6 week and 3 month check up. and you know what i then notice the huge change in weight loss, verces if i stepped on it daily, or weekly. after my 3 month check up i then went to the store stood on several scales, and then bought the one that matched my weight according to the dr scale, so my home scale was accurate.
weekly is a good amount of time to step on the scale, however i wouldnt start doing it until after your first follow up. because you still probably weigh more than preop, from fluids.
just remember dont go scale crazy, it seriously can mess with your head, especially if you  go up a pound or two. good luck you'll do great!

Okay I am only 3 months out but I remember I didn't get on the scale for almost the first week but after that I checked it like everyday.  Now I only check it about every other day.  It keeps me motivated to see the scale move even 1 pound down.  You just gotta do what keeps you sane!

I got on the scale when I got home (5 days after surgery)... then after that once a week and at the doctor's appointments.  I will drive myself crazy if I weigh more than once a week.

I weigh every day... I am addicted to the scale. I know I shouldn't but I really can't help myself.
Just do what you need to do to keep your sanity... and best of luck to you!
