Well I met someone on Plenty of fish, the dating website.
He wants to meet Sunday, weather permitting.... Ike is right around the corner.

Well, we talked and such, texting at times.
He said he wants to go to flanigans? What to eat there?

I told him about the surgery, because I wanted too....he's not slim himself.

Haven't been on a date, for a long time, last relationship was when my daughter was 2. she is 6 now.

Scared!

I say go for it! even if nothing ends up being there romanticaly, its good practice to get yourself back out there, and learn how to do the whole dating thing again. sorry i cant help you with the resturant, i personally have never gone. i would try and look up and see if they have a online menu. goodluck. remember dating is suppose to be FUN!

yeah I say go and have fun! Don't have any expectations like," this has to become something serious." It puts too much preassure on the situation. Just tell yourself your there to  have fun.
And remember, be careful when meeting people over the internet.
Best wishes!

I'd say go for it.

I met someone online and we've been seeing each other for about a month now.  And it's going great.  We started out just talking on the phone, texting, met up (I took my sister along for safety to a place where we knew people who worked there), and the rest is history.

I've never been to Flanigans, but if you have soups, salad, and grilled items, that's always good.

Anyhow, have fun with it...that doesn't mean you have to marry him tomorrow.

ooo Flanigans - I use to love to get the combo - ribs, fries, salad and a margarita :-)
Im sure you could eat grilled chicken salad or something similar, if I remember correctly they have baked potatoes and stuff.
Either way I say go on the date... its good to get your 'feet wet' and practice your small talk... good way to boost the ego and have fun. Even if you are not interested in the guy live a little and go out... its just a date :-)

I don't have much advice, but I just wanted to mention that I met my husband on Plenty of Fish 3 1/2 years ago :)

I say go for it, its nice to even just meet new people!  You can never know too many.

Hi! I'm Karen! I'm new to the board but I wanted to say hi and tell you I know exactly what you mean about the whole dating thing. I have been out on a few dates over the last couple months and let me tell you, I was scared to death!! LOL! BUT everything went well and even though I'm not dating either guy at the moment we are still friends and I actually hang out with one of them pretty frequently! Anyway, all I wanted to say was go for it girl! You will never know until you try! Who knows, he might be the right one for you! If hes not, you might end up with a friend! Be sure to let us know how it turns out because I'm not sure about everyone else but I really want to know!!
