I am one year post op WLS Lap Band.  I am 27 years old.  We have female pattern baldness in our family. However, I am showing even worse hair thinning than ever.  Is there anything that I can use or do?  I know it has to do with the surgery, but my goodness.  I have always valued my hair.  HELP!

You can try taking Biotin supplements, they are for your hair skin and nails, that may help!

Hey toni, I wasnt really aware that there was a hair loss problem for band patients (because there isnt any malabsorbtion?) But I can tell you my personal and professional reccomendation (im a cosmetologist)

Products to try: NIOXIN shampoo (cleanser), conditioner (scalp therapy) and spray in scalp treatment. They dont "regrow" your hair per say....but the system puts your entire scalp in a state of growth and over a few months time you should notice thicker hair...at the very LEAST you wont continue losing.

This worked really well for me and I think I have regrown about 80% of what I lost after surgey.

Biotin also does work...But there is no miracle cure. Give it a few months (atleast 3)  to see results.

I cheated and got long hair extensions after surgey lol...so no one saw how bald I was! If thats an option...I would def look into it :)
