I'm back.. and feeling yucky
Hi guys. Mine and my dads surgery was on tuesday and we just got home last night. Still feeling really yucky and im off the vicodin(sp). Its been hard being home. My vision is really blurry and I dont know why. I had great perfect vision before I went in for surgery and now I cant see anything, so if I mispell anything of it just looks weird sorry.. lol. My son doesnt wanna have anything to do with me.. he keeps saying BAD MOM.. for leaving him. And he spent half the week with my mom and the other half with my aunt and uncle and their 2 little girls, and he is now calling them mom and dad. Its hard and im very emotional. I know it will get better and im just trying to stay optimisitic. I weighed myself this morning and I weighed more than I did when I went in there, im sure its normal and I will start losing again. anyways, just wanted to update you. Thanks..
Your vision may be affected by the meds, call your surgeon. The weight gain... totally normal! You were pumped up with fluids and gas, your body just needs to eliminate them now.
I don't have any advice with your son, as I'm childless... but I do hope everything works out well with you and your father as well!

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.
I agree, call your surgeon about the blurred vision. Quite a few people come home heavier...they are pumping you full of fluids at the hospital. Give it a little while, the weight will start dropping before you know it. Your son will come around too! Sounds like he missed you, and kids don't always know how to verbalize it.
Hang in there, it will get better!!!

Hey mine was the day after yours, and I got out of the hospital last night, I spent only 2 days there, it was crazy. I'm still hurting and am on the liquid still, I gianed 12 pounds of weight whe I was in there it's all water weight and will come off fast no worries about that. I'm sorry you are having problems with yuor son, glad to hear that your surgery went well, and that you are home, and off the pain meds, I keep worrying about the pain meds and me, but if it hurts it hurts, i just keep trying to pass the gas and drink lots of water and sleeping when I feel like it. We should keep updating eachother.
Hey guys. Thanks for all the support. I am feeling a little better and my vision is a little better too. My dad and I keep walking around the block. He feels great and seems all chipper and im over here in pain from the gas... but my family has been great. My son is still upset with me, but he will get over it soon. I was feeling so bad that I did take another pill, and that helped. I know it sounds crazy but I know im not hungry, but I still have cravings and I still want food. Everytime I sleep I have dreams about food and eating and eating... My dad is the same way and my mom isnt. Ive been watching alot of TV and those stupid food commercials are ******g me off. Everything looks so good and smells so good, but of course, I wont have any. Did any of you have this and did it get better??
And im happy your all doing ok that had the surgery this week! Let me know how it goes

When I had a stricture, food commercials made me want to ralph...seriously. So I would mute them. I could handle seeing it and not hearing it but if I listened to them talk about it while I was watching it the majority of the time it made me sick. I know your situation isn't the same, but try muting it.
