Going out to dinner help!!!
Soup is good! Just make sure it's no all liquid and more substance.
That's what my doctor told me...something like a stew or chili. The liquid will only act like your water too soon before a meal - fill you up, leaving no room for protein or nutrients from the contents.
Was also thinking..if they decide to go mexican, they always serve their trays with refried beans and sprinkled cheese! (I'm sure you can get it a la carte too.) And maybe green/red chili? I'd try it at home first.
Someone mentioned that maranera sauce and cottage cheese is good together, so if you go the pasta route, you could ask for that or just ask for a meaty spaghetti sauce in a bowl - lol.
You could probably get apple sauce from the jack-of-all-food restaurants.
Good luck! Let us know what you end up doing :) I'd like ideas for when I get there!
