Fluids
I haven't had ice water for about 2 years because I had the same problem - at the time I was having trouble I I thought it was water in general making me feel sick, but as soon as I drank non-ice cold water the sick feeling stopped happening. I wish I would have figured out my problem earlier because I spent 2 separate nights in the ER, in my first 4 months post-op, getting fluids through an IV to treat dehydration.
Now-a-days I drink water from my brita pitcher, which sits on my counter and not in the fridge, and I no longer have problems getting all of my fluids in. I was a die-hard ice water drinker pre-op so the thought of drinking room temp water was very unappealing to me, but now I can honestly say I prefer my room temp water. Give it a shot and I hope you are happily surprised.
You might also try adding a squeeze of a lemon or lime wedge to your water. There is some chemistry involved that I no longer remember, but something about the citrus makes the water sit better in your pouch. It has been explained to me several times, and though chemistry is not my thing, it does help.
SF crystalite and other SF add ins are also a good option, .
I hope this helps!
