2 Months post op!
Hey kids! I just updated, 2 months post TT, things are progressing nicely. FINALLY over the icky part and got drains out...I wear the binder at specific times of the day and have 6 months to fous on "scar maintance" til I see the doc again. I am doing scar masage and silicone strips, within 3 days, I have seen significant results! So anywhoo, just got a bit of swelling above the mons pubis, I gotta small, poufy pouch that's pretty tender yet-which makes wearing jeans difficult.but swelling is expected for up to 6 months so whatever.
I love not having the spare tire and have NEVER had the carefree experiences with getting dressed and shopping as I do now, but I am so not able to accept it yet. I did not go thru this with the weight loss because I am not satisfied until I reach my goal-currently 30lbs away, so me losing 120# is no big deal to me (retarded, I know!) but now when I get dressed and love the way I look, I get this feeling like it's not permanent, too good to be true-I find myself hoping I look pretty tomorrow "too." WEIRD-OH! This is such a head trip, I can't even talk to boys and it's not like I didn't date and or have boyfriends. I just don't believe they are really talking to me or flirting with ME! I even did the thing you think you only see on TV... some guy said something and I turned my head the other way like the girl he was talking to was behind me! LMAO I felt like the biggest doofus!!
Okay, enough Dr. Phil, go check me out! MUAH!

Yes, it helped all over. I wore my binder religiously until six months I believe... it kept everything secure and I felt a difference in my energy when I wore it and when I didn't. I had a very physical job and work with large animals, so it was needed to secure my new tummy's safety. As far as your mons swelling... totally normal. If the binder covers that, no need to buy a girdle thing. My binder had what resembled bra closures in three rows on both sides and a row at the crotch... I adjusted it as needed.

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.
Did you buy your own or was the from the clinic? I still have the clinic one that just wraps around and secures with velcro. I figurd it would be ok to go to Kohl's and find a nice everyday girdle, just be sure I can get it nice and tight! It sucks to be in girdle-world, you'd think those days were done! lol I make it so tight that I create back fat.... "pillsbury cresants if you will!" lol at least it's not a mufin!
Hey Jennifer, thanks! Actually I think I may have gone down-but can't be sure yet! I still have hips and a butt so my current pants fit the same there but then I more room in the waist so it's kind of diffiult! If I were to go down a size then I may give myself a camel toe! LMAO I have the swelling across the bottom of my tummy yet-right where your jeans come together to button and it' so tender so I haven't been able to "accurately' play dress up yet! I was really shocked at first that I didn't drop like 5 sizes then realized the way my fat and spare tire was distributed, it was just excess fat and skin that showed in clothes, but my waist was...my waist still. So I think maybe I can fit in 1 size smaller, depending on the hips and thighs, but for the most part everything just fits BETTER..No fat hanging over the waistline, I don't have to worry about having long shirts or how it sits on my butt... (got me some lipo too!) I met a girl at the office who said she wears the same clothes so it calmed me!
You might want to try to get you a Bella Band. They are used for pregnant women but they are great, what it is, is a band that you wear over your pants to keep from having to button them but you cant tell they are unbuttoned. It actually looks like you have on a longer tank under all your shirts. Which we all know the layered look is in style. Here is a link to show you how it can be worn. I still wear mine sometimes over the top of my jeans to make it look like I have on layers but dont want to have to wear 2 shirts. I plan on using mine after I have my tummytuck.
