So what do you tell people when u lose weight?
I just saw a whole bunch of people I hadn't seen in 2 years over the weekend, and talk about a change in how people approach or react. They weren't nasty by any means before, but they definitely were floored.
I figure the more you tell, the more everyone can be educated about the dangers of obesity and how this is the only way out for a lot of people.

I won't hide it (when I have it done!). I think the only way to help crush the negative perceptions of weight loss surgery is to educate people. If you say you just dieted, then the next time they talk to someone who wants surgery, they could be using YOU as an example to say, "Why would you have surgery? I know this girl who lost 1XX pounds just by eating healthy and watching portions!" You could actually become a reason for others to NOT have the surgery, even if you have no intentions of that happening, you have no control over what others will say.
In my case, I will tell them I had surgery to correct my Type 2 Diabetes, and it just so happened to also be a weight loss surgery. 100% true, as that is my primary reason for wanting surgery.
