Just discovered this section of the boards!

I had no idea there was a 20-somethings part of OH! I've been popping around the local state boards, the main board, the specific surgery type board, etc., but this is AWESOME!

I'm 25 and am hoping to have the DS procedure in the next year (have to wait for my 6 months of medically supervised weight loss program, which hasn't technically started yet). I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in May, and the DS has the highest rate of diabetes remission, which is really my primary goal (and, well, losing 100+ pounds along the way would be a nice side effect :P ).

Anyway, I'm currently just sorting out all the insurance requirements and have registered for a mandatory information session with the surgeon's office I want. I'm pretty impatient--this could be a long road to approval!

hope you have luck with all your paper work, and sorry to hear about the diabetes, but youl get rid of that you`ll see.

Welcome to the board ,  I was type 2 diabetic before my surgery and it was resolved within a couple months (officially in a couple of months, but I didn't take any insulin post-op, so it may well have been sooner).  I hope everything with your approval process goes smoothly!

hey! im right up there with you! i had no idea there was a spot for 20s people. YAY. Good luck with all your pperwork, i know its dull and frustrating, youll do fine.
