DELICIOUS NEWS!
hey everyone! hope everyone is having a good week, and thank goodness tomorrow is friday!
well i just got back from a training class at starbucks for 2 new drinks we are going to be offering starting next tuesday and i wanted to let you all know the good news!!!!
the drinks are called "vivanno" and there are two different flavors, orange-mango banana, and banana chocolate. they are nutritional blends made from real fruit juice, bananas, and all natural ingredients with no sugar added!
now here is the best part...THEY ARE MADE WITH WHEY PROTEIN!!!! YES!!!!!!!! i was jumping for joy when i heard this!!! here is the nutritional break down:
all based on 16oz, made with non-fat milk
orange-mango banana: 240 cal, 16 protein, 5 fiber, 1 fat
banana chocolate: 250 cal, 21 protein, 6 fiber, 2 fat
you can add espresso to the banana chocolate but it alters the nutrition a bit: 260 cal, 20 protein, 5 fiber, 4.5 fat for adding the espresso shot!
vivanno comes in one size only 16 oz!!!! I TRIED SAMPLES OF BOTH TONIGHT AND THEY WERE SO DELICIOUS!!!!!
WHOOOO HOOOOOO!!!! my manager is working on finding out the exact sugar content, but in the training they kept saying its no sugar added, so all natural sugar isn't so bad!
so thats my fun news for the night, hope you all get a chance to try these beverages if you are looking for something sweet and delicious :)

Im glad S*Bux is putting out more options!!
But I just wanted to state that sugar is sugar... your body views it the same no matter if its natural sugar (fruit) or added sugar (candy!) - so its still important to watch the amount and keep it low :-)
Also be wary of 'drinking your calories'... people tend to still eat the same amount of food even when they consumed liquid calories (be accountable!!!)... you also miss out on the bulk (fiber) when you drink juice instead of eating an actucal piece of fruit so whole fruits are always a better choice over fruit juices. Again thou its nice to see them comming out with more options, we all need a *treat* now and then and IMO this would be a good choice on occasion!

Sounds pretty good....My ony question is how much? How much does it cost (cuz I'm cheap) and how much sugar (cuz i dump)...As soon as it comes out though I will check it out, and if I like it, I may even try to recreate in my kitchen (WLS'ed up, of course) If that happens I will post it on my blog - which I hope to roll out some time next week...or take a sneak peak, now ;)
