Congrats on getting approved thats awesome :) Do u know how long you have to do a liquid diet before surgery?  I would get that prepared and make sure that you have it ordered if you dont already, (I had to order mine from another company when I had my surgery) And this is just a personal thing, but i would also (if this is something that appeals to you) find out about things like robes, and slippers at the hospital you will be at, and pack up a small bag with some things you would like with you.  I packed up my own tooth brush, hair brush, tooth paste, slipper, robe, one blanket, i also took pictures of my cat and my journal.  Made that hospital room feel more like home.  My aunt had her surgery at the same place as i did and she never asked so she never got any of her own personal things, when she came to see me she was amazed at my room and a little jealous, so it pays to ask.

I called my hubby as soon as I got of the phone SCREAMING... and he was at lunch with all his buddies from work and they were like "what is your wife yelling about NOW..." LOL... Its great and exciting! Goodluck and I hope everything goes well for you!

One thing that nobody warned me about and I wish I had known was that it is really hard to rest at some hospitals because of how noisy they are. Your rest will be interupted frequently by nurses and doctors coming to check your vitals and your progress, so what uninterrupted sleep you can get will be valuable. That's why I wish I had brought some earplugs so I wouldn't have to listen to all the racket outside my room or the sound of the guy in the room next door to me having the puss vacumed out of his open wounds every few hours (come to think of it noseplugs would have come in handy too). I would ask about toothpaste, mouthwash etc. if it is allowed, then bring it - they're will be some horrific tastes, textures, and odors going on in your mouth and you will probably be extra sensitive to them after surgery for some reason.

hI CONGRATULATIONS  I would say my first piece of advice is to not give in to "last supper syndrome, " which is basically eating whatever you want because you feel like you won't be able to eat after surgery. I went through this majorily, and in fact was eating fast food the night before my surgery. I so regrett this now. I mean I did crave foods after surgery but it goes away after a while, and now I realize that my helath is so much more important! Also you can eat again. second this is simple advice, but take before shots of yourself and record all your measuremnts. Poeple told me to do this before surgery, and I ignored them. I really though that I wouldn't care about these things. Now I regrett that I didn't do it. Of course i have some pictures of myself, but I never did take my measurments. I get sad when other people say things like, "i've lost 56 inches," because I'll never know how much I've lost. Belive me you'll want these things!
