Hi Lindsey!  Welcome to the group, where in Cali are you? I had over 200 pounds to lose, so yes, skin is a definate issue... but I did see it tighten up as best it could with exercise and water.  Those areas with lots of stretch marks though, have little hope of going back to normal.  Pregnant... up until 18 mos post op I was told to use two forms of birth control since we're highly fertile.  I've 2.5 years and still use two forms. Welcome again!

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.

I was 20 with no children on surgery day.  I'm 21 now and I've lost like 180 lbs or so total, and about 165 since surgery.  I mean, I can't say that my skin is even close to what a normal 21-year-old's skin looks like, but I honestly don't think it's as bad as it could have been had I been older.  It doesn't mean that I couldn't benefit from a whole body lift, though.  There's definitely some saggage and baggage, primarily in the tummy, boobs, thighs, and arms. Not getting pregnant any time soon.  No way, no how, don't wanna.  Maybe in 10 years.

hey, I'm 21 and no kids. My doctor told me not to think about it for like 2 years... my hubby and I are planing on more like 5 years; that way I have plenty of time to get in shape and enjoy my "new" life.  :)victoria

Sorry but I just wanted to tell you that I am 22 and I have a 16 month old and I know my skin is going to be horrible after I have the surgery. I was just telling my hubby that the other day that I dont think my skin would be AS bad if I had the surgery before I got pregnant. I really didnt get too big and I didnt get stretch marks until my 9th month. And now that im even bigger than I was on my delivery day I have gotten more stretch marks and yucky skin. It sucks.. I do plan on getting pregnant as soon as im allowed to. Its one of the main reasons for having the surgery. I do want plastics someday but after im done having babies.  Sorry just wanted to give my side...

Hi Lindsey, I'm 26 with no children. I had PCOS and have not been able to get pregnant in the past due to my weight. I'm only about 2 months out, so I can't tell you how much extra skin I have yet. As far as getting pregnant though, what I can tell you is that before surgery I RARELY ovulated or had a period. However, after surgery, I have had a regular, "normal" period for  months in a row. SO apparently I am ovulating!!! I'm so excited because when I am ready to in about 18 months or so, I should be able to get pregnant! WOO HOO! Good luck!

I have PCOS also, and thats what I'm hoping for I'm married to a wonderful man and I would love for when we are ready to get pregnant with out any issues, thats part of why I'm getting the surgery, I want to be healthy for myself and my future babies.

Amen Sister! That was the hugest part of me having surgery. I wish you and your husband the absolute best!!! I knew that my weight was holding me back from conceiving, and I had to do what would work for me.
