Slow around here....Watcha doin' this weekend?
It's the first official weekend of summer! Yeah! That means I officialy won't see more then maybe two days with highs below 100 degrees for at least the next 12 weeks, joy! Sorry, it's just this is the part of the year where I always ask myself if the mild winters are really worth the five months of oppressive heat. Yes it is a dry heat, and yes I complained more when I lived in the Carolinas and it was 95 and HUMID, but it's still disgusting when the breeze blows and it feels like a hair dryer and when evertyime you leave your car for five minutes in a parking lot you have to cover the steering wheel or learn to drive with two finger tips on the wheel because it is so hot....or when you jump into a swimming pool in june looking for releif and the water is so hot already that you might as well be jumping into a bathtub! How hot is it? Yesterday i read a story about a man found next to his car in a coma with third degree burns all over his body from passing out next to his car. Anyways, enough about me and my complaining about the weather, it could be worse, my house could be flooded or torn up by a tornado, so I'm grateful that everything is secure and my central a/c works... What are you guys up to this weekend? I was supposed to go to a high school reunion but have opted not to go. I went to a tiny boarding school that is now closed down, so when you combine the fact that the school is gone, most of the alumni live in other states or countries, and there were only 56 in my graduating class, and how hot it is here now, I probably would only actually run into less then a half dozen people I actually know, and to me that is not worth spending $200 on right now when I'm wondering how I'm going to keep driving my gas guzzling truck around town at $4.20 a gallon....So instead I will hang around home tonight, maybe take my kids to see Kung-Fu Panda...Tomorrow night my sisters in law will babysit for us and we'll go out for japanese food and drinks at some place called Ah-So (hope they're not AH-Soles)....I heard it is a good place for sake bombers, but that sounds sugary for me - I think I'll stick to beer or vodka as usual. Has anyone here who dumps tried sake? how did you do?
