Cholesterol
So I just got back from my 2 night stay in the hospital for my one month post op visit. They did all my labs and metabolic rates and all that stuff. They gave me the results this morning before I left and guess what? My Cholesterol is down 60 points!!! They took me off my insulin!!! I am down 3% body fat and haven't lost any muscle!!! Finally, my metabolic rate has stayed exactly the same since before surgery!! I am so excited!!
Thanks! I am getting the protein in, I am tolerating things very well. As for the 2-night hospital stay, I am part of a research study. They are studying the correlation of obesity and weight loss to diabetes. They do all of my labs, potassium, calcium, iron, B12, liver and kidney function, coags, etc. They are also like my own personal nutrition team, they do my metabolic rates and put me in the bod pod to measure my bf percentages, they go over what physical activity I have been doing and make recommendations, and also customize my nutrition plan based on my test results. They do a glucose tolerance test every time I go in, obviously to check on my diabetes and they took me off the insulin today!!! The only downside is all the blood they take, about 30 vials this time. I had a baseline visit before surgery then I have a a visit at 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, and 5 years post-op. I feel very fortunate to be a part of it.
