So I'm TOTALLY craving ice cream.  And not popsicles.  I want the creaminess of it.  Has anyone found some good ones that are decent to eat every once in awhile??  I haven't caved yet, but i really really want to.  All help in this hunt is much appreciated.

It's realy a food that in my opinion you're better off completely avoiding. I'm someone who dumps on anything more then about 10 grams of sugar so I haven't been very succesful in finding good alternatives. Most of the no-sugar-added kinds of ice cream have a lot of sugar alchohol which is even worse then sugar for me. But, I've been allright with soy ice cream that I've found at Trader Joes and a few other places. One thing that I used to use alot for ice cream cravings was frozen cool whip, sometimes with sugar free chocolate syrup or peanut butter and vanilla low-carb yogurt.

Yup, that's right! Soy....when I was a little kid I was lactose intolerant until I was about 8 years old and my mom used to get me soy ice cream called Tofutti - you can still find it...but I like this brand better:

So Deliciuos Minis Neapolitan

http://www.soydelicious.com/ You can find this brand almost anywhere, but it's hard to find more then one or two of their dozens for products at any one store....they do have a store locator, on their website...I like these mini's because anything more and I'm past my dumping threshold, so these are just the right size...

Thanks for all your information.  I'm very interested in trying this soy ice cream, although it sounds weird.  It's true, I should stay away completely stay away from ice cream, but I've had this craving for several weeks now and it just keeps intensifying.  The popsicles just make it worse because its like my taste buds know I'm so close to giving it what they want but yet it's so different.

I find that if I get a craving for something, I try to fulfill it so that it will go away!  Generally one or two bites does the trick, and I'm good.  I don't know if you have a Braum's where you are, but they have several no sugar added icecreams, and I love them.  I never ever eat a full serving though, just a couple of bites in a shot glass.

I'm going to publicly admit that I broke down and bought some Edy's "No Added Sugar" Cookie Dough Ice Cream... and Smucker's SF caramel and hot fudge toppings this week.  They are delicious!!! The dangers? Lots of gas! Being single and now having to eat a half-gallon by myself since it's in my fridge. I have no self-control with sweets. Should you buy it?  If you can find a small container and can practice self-control by eating a very small portion, then I don't see why not.  But ice cream melts right away and goes down as easy as water, so you can eat a LOT and not realize it.  Heather
