So not cool!
I just found out 7 months later that my insurance might require me to do a 6 month supervised diet!!! This would have been nice to know 7 months ago when I started this so that I would already be done by now... My dad and I have the exact same insurance (hubby and dad work for the same company) and he was just denied last week because they said he didnt have a 6 month supervised diet. He actually did have it, that he had done 2 years ago, but it just wasnt in the paperwork. When we got a list in December of the things that were required by both the surgeon and the insurance this was not one of them. My paperwork was sent in March but was put on hold until I could get my thyroid under control which I did and I was resubmited to the insurance on friday. In March when I was first told about my thyroid the insurance and the lady that handles the insurance from my surgeons office told me that I should be approved that ALL they needed was my TSH levels when they were under control.. So.. I think I might be skrewed! Im so pissed.. it would have been nice to know this a long time ago!
That could be a huge bummer. I hope that you are worrying for nothing and that all gets approved quickly. Maybe you could get in to see your doc and get started on a 6-month supervised diet while you wait for insurance approval. Even if you don't end up needing it, it surely won't hurt. Let us know how it goes!

Thanks guys! I just really have this yucky nasty feeling about the whole thing. Im trying to be optimistic but Ive been working so hard for so long for this and it just makes me boil! I dont understand why they didnt tell us in the beginning! .... O well.. I guess I will have to wait it out. This really is one of the hardest parts is the waiting and not knowing.. I just hate having this horrible feeling.
