Holla to my fellow Twenty-Somethings!!!
Hi all!!! My name is Carrie. I had RNY on January 25th 2008 (day before my 28th birthday) and am 4 months post op and 68 lbs down! I am sooooooooooooooooooooo excited to have found this forum!!!! I appreciate all the forums and support groups I am part of but how nice is it to be able to share my journey with others around my age who may be struggling with other issues us twenty-somethings are dealing with. For example, the "Quarter Life Crisis"! If you haven't heard of it ladies and gentelmen then you soon will. It is becoming a catch phrase and a reality. We in our 20's are struggling in such unique ways. Many of us are just becoming post grads or have only been out for a short time. We are struggling with trying to find jobs, boyfriends/girlfriends, careers, homes, our self esteems....basically our place in the world. It's like chronological limbo. Add that to having major WLS and going from being the "outcast" to a "normal" size person (whatever that may be) and you have this forum. I look forward to visiting this forum often and reading up on what others are going through. Drop me a line if you want to chat :o) Take care...C
Carrie ... Hi and Welcome! Yes, it is still a struggle for me, even almost 4 years out sometimes to know to what "normal" really is... it's good to have the support of others who know what you're going through. I looked at your pics and you're doing great! Take care and good luck on your journey!
