Okay, I have a sex question so please stop reading if this offends you.

For all of you post-ops, how long after surgery did you wait before you had sex?  I haven't seen very many guidelines on this, so I am turning to those who have experience in this area for help.

Thanks in advance!

There is a sex board, but we have lost a few members to them, so they suck! As for me, I waited, like, a month, I think.

Hmm... Well I havent had the surgery yet so I wouldnt really know.. BUT I have heard that most doctors (forgive me if im wrong) say to just take it easy and you can have sex when you feel ready. But I think I would say give it 2-3 weeks though.. Hope this helps, and if im wrong.. IM SORRY! hahaha

I was told to wait 4 weeks after my bypass (I had it done laporscopically) - if you had an open procedure the wait will probably be longer.  The important thing is - if it hurts or doesn't feel right, stop.

It's really up to your doctor and how you feel, not worth popping a stitch or creating a hernia, but in my experience: First, I had to wait until they removed the catheter....then once I figured out how to adjust the hospital bed, it was off to the races.....j/k I think it was like two or three weeks for me....BTW - most people will say that the testosterone released from fat burning (including in women) will cause a noticable increase in your desire, so watch out!

I waited about 3 1/2 weeks.  But the first time back wasn't an exciting romp in the hay, it was done with a lot more caution haha :) If you are really concerned ask your doctor :)
