I have been having these episodes of intense pain that last upto six hours. Over the last few months I've had four attacks and been to the emergency room twice. Both times they found nothing wrong and sent me home. Well I had another attack on tuesday night, and this time I called my suergons office. They adviced me to come to the emergency room at the hospital where they practice which is about 45 minutes from where I live. Well i went there thinking they would just give me some pain killers and send me home, but after about four hours in the emergency room and numerous test they admitted me, and the next day I was in surgery and had my gallbladder removed.  Apparently it was severly infected, and I had a number of stones that was preventing it form draining. So thank God I decided to call my surgeon! Anyways I would just like to advise anyone if your having any problems at all to make an appointment with your surgeon! I kept putting it off, nad while ti all worked out in the end If i hadn't gotten it taken care there was a real chance the infection could have spread to my bloodstream.  Don't mess with your health people.

I havent had a gallbladder for years i actually had mine removed before my surgery.. I am glad you are okay now though.  I have been having some mysterious discomfort on my lower right side on and off for like 4 weeks now it only lasts an hour or 2 when it happens but its so annoying.  I know its not my gallbladder because i dont have one lol... It is definetly important if you feel the need to go to the emergency room you let the surgeon know, we were given the number of the bariatric surgeon on call and told if we had to go to the ER we were to let them know first.

I'm glad you're okay and that everything turned out well.  I hope you heal up quick!  And I totally have been there and you're right - you have to take things seriously and make sure your medical care professionals take you seriously too.  When something is wrong (and intense pain for 6 hours is so so so so wrong) and you know it, don't let anyone dismiss it.   Get better soon!

I had mine out on Friday and was at the mall shopping on Saturday.  SOOOOOOOO much easier than WLS! And it feels SOOOOO great to be able to eat again without excruciating pain. Lesson learned - listen to your body.  If something doesn't feel right, it probably isn't!  Hope you're feeling better soon!
