You drink them?  Hmmmm... I do not have a problem getting all of my protien from food and I have always HATED with a passion protien drinks...but I could see early on especially how they could be helpful... What are the stats on them?  How many calories / grams of protien / carbs?

well, i was thinking of drinking them right after i have the surgery...the two weeks of liquid diet. I really want to have a lot of protein and water to cleanse, and hopefully not lose my hair!! we'll see if that's the ticket : ) i was wondering what people thought of them...taste and so forth!

Click to enlargeMake some protein Jello!pad Make REAL Jello... not the rubbery premade store kind. It's light, soft textured, and fruity. Follow the directions for speed set on a small box of Jello. Adding two 42 gram New Whey protein bullets along with the ice. Ready to eat after a twenty minute chill. Add a splooge of Reddi Wip light aerosol whipped cream to make it a delicious way to get in your protein. Ummmmm. pad

They taste like super strong liquid jello if taken straight.  Helps to mix with 20oz of water or a similarly flavored Crystal Light and drink over a few hours.  (Supposedly this helps aid protein absorption also). Everyone's surgeon or nut have different ideas about protein supplementation.  If yours allows it, they're pretty good especially in your first few weeks post-op.  Once you start solids though you'll likely find yourself supplementing less with things like this, and getting most of your needs from solid food.

I think they are great for right after surgery but wouldn't rely on them much beyond that period for a few reasons. I don't like the taste and once you start eating "normally" again, you should be able to get enough protein the conventional way. It can also get expensive, and lastly - I've heard that they don't provide the best type of protein, not a big deal short term (if that claim was even true) but maybe a big deal long term...

"New Whey Protein Bullets" Think super-goopey, thick, viscous, fruitiness.  As a fresh post-op, after the first week even the smell of protein powders, shakes and supplements made me gag.    But I have two tubes in my fridge for those "just in case" days when my protein is low.  They're tolerable mixed with SF kool-aid.

I don't hardly recognize myself or my life anymore!
