Impact Advanced Recovery Nutrition Drink?
Hello friends. I had my pre-op nurse visit today and the nurse gave me samples of a product called Impact Advanced Recovery Nutrition Drink. It comes in either chocolate or vanilla and is packaged in little individual juice-type boxes. You can drink it the week before and the week after surgery for a faster recovery.
I was just wondering if anyone had tried this??
Thanks!

1 little boxed serving contains:
Cal 340
Protein 18.1g
Carb 44.7g
Fat 9.2g
Fiber 3.3g
There is a *long* list of vitamins and minerals, including:
Vit A, B6, B12, C, D, E, K, Calcium, iron, folic acid, biotin, potassium, zinc, magnesium, copper, etc.
The nutritional stats aren't the best, but it's not designed for long-term use, just two boxes a day for one week before and one week after surgery, or for a week or two after injury.
I've read that it tastes pretty good but it's expensive. I think I'm going to try it out...

Never heard of it before and frankly, based on the nutrition stats, I don't think I'd buy it. It's super high in calories and carbs. "Faster recovery" may just mean it helps you build up your vitamin reserve before surgery, which you can do on your own by taking a good multivitamin, iron with vit C, calcium with vit D, and eating healthy. Drink lots of water, too. But if she gave you samples for free and they cover your nutritional needs pre/post op, then go for it! Free is always great! Heather
