Eatin' Good in the 20's Neighborhood - I'm Back
Okay, so I've been MIA pretty much for a while. School got really insane and I got really stressed (there is still a lot for me to do this semester, but I am dealing with it better). But I'm still eating good! I hope everyone else is too!
For a reminder, here is what this is all about: I post what I ate today - you post what you ate today - if you feel like it total up calories, protien, carbs, fat, whatever and put it at the bottom. What this is really is an exercise in accountability. I truly believe that my success can be attributed to my food journal. In my food journal I write down every scrap of food and every drop of beverage that goes into my mouth. After my surgery I had to learn to eat mindfully (as in being honest with myself about how much I actually eat, never forgetting that handful of peanuts or two crackers eaten off the cuff - I write down EVERYTHING) and keeping a journal has helped. Then at the end of the day I plug everything in at fitday.com and total my calories, carbs, protien and fat. Keeps me honest, keeps the weight off, keeps me healthy. It's a good deal. So, if you are struggling, start a journal or just post here or both.
Here we go...
7:30am - 8 oz skim milk, 4 oz espresso, 1 oz sf vanilla davinci syrup
10am - 1 ka****LC honey almond flax granola bar
20 oz water
12:30pm - the insides of a sloppy joe and 1/3 cup cheesy hashbrown casserole (I was at an "outdoor education" seminar and "lunch" was provided...yeah...super duper healthy)

3pm - 1 cheese stick and 1 beef stick
20 oz water
6:30pm - 2/3 cup of steamed sweet corn from frozen bag (I made my husband a ham steak - my pouch hates ham - and corn for a side, but there was a lot of corn leftover and it smelt awesome, didn't taste quite as good as it smelt, but it was still good and satisfied a serious craving...)
Yeah, protien is not there today. I'll be up for a while tonight working on a huge paper assignment due at the end of the week, if I eat again it'll be either honey roasted almonds and peanuts or some leftover beef stew I made earlier this week in my crock pot.

Breakfast--- 2 eggs over easy, 2 pieces of canadian bacon
Snack---2 oz. peanuts
Lunch---3oz steak with A1 sauce, 1 babybel cheese
Dinner----(slowly throughout my 3 hour class I had tonight)...
3 oz mozzarella tomato salad, small south beach diet high protein bar, SF pudding
Also, I was bad at class and had 1 mini-butterfinger and 3 jolly ranchers!!!
Snack----not sure, I will probably heat up a little leftover pestopasta with chicken apple sausage and onions that I made last night....
Today I also hit the gym....I did 30 minutes of my 5k training, 10 minutes on the stairmaster, 10 minutes of weights, 5 minutes of stretching...then I rewarded myself with laying out and when I got hot jumped in the pool and swam some laps.....I was proud of my work out today, but my knee hurts...I'm going to suck it up and hit the gym again tomorrow!!! :)
Im still working on my eating, I have been slack and planning on food logging again starting monday so I can see where I am falling nutritionally.

s - 8 raw almonds, serving of soy crisps
pre-lunch (lol Im making up meals now) - 2oz deli turkey w/1 slice RF cheese
lunch - TJs teriayki chicken rice n veggie bowl... I hadnt had this before and there was like.. oo 1oz of chicken - *******s! I ate that, some of the veggies and a little rice... maybe a 1/4th cup food in total, it was pretty blah
s - 1/2 cu cottage cheese
pre-workout - 1 slice of RF cheese and 4 multigrain flax crackers
d - salad, less than 1/2 cu skillet lasgana (whole wheat pasta, lean beef, veggies, RF cheese, FF ricotta, sauce)
s - skinny dipper bar
Oh and I munched on.. hmm proally 6 SF twizzlers. I was saving them for the trip this weekend but opened them... damn temptation! At least they were SF. *shrug*
I did drink my gallon of water, amazing with the snack filled day I had eh? But I got it in :-) I also ran almost 2.5 miles - woo hoo.
First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
Total lost - 153 Since surgery - 117!
Goal weight - 155 (mine) 180 (surgeons)
Current weight - 135 (2020 I lost 10lbs due to dedicating myself to working out more and being in better shape)
1/14/2025 still maintaining 135 :-)

YAY! She's back and ready to attack!
I have been really horrible about posting here lately and I need to step it up. I'm still waiting to hear from Insurance as to whether or not I have been approved. So, needless to say I have alot of extra time on my hands!
Breakfast--Sugar Free Oatmeal with one tablespoon of butter, 2 slices of 45 calorie bread and 4 oz. of orange juice
10:45am--can of low carb slim fast drink
Lunch--hibachi chicken from the deli at my work (chicken, carrots and mushrooms) with fried rice and one egg roll. I only ate about half of everything. It wasn't that great to be completely honest!
6:15pm--a handful of tortilla chips with some hot sauce and ranch sauce; 5 almond m&ms
Dinner--I think the hibachi chicken played tricks with my stomach or something because I wasn't terribly hungry for dinner but I did end up running to Sonic to get mom and I a small shake so I had a small chocolate shake and a small tater tot
My water intake for the day was less than par so I'll make up for it today.
Consumed 62 oz. of water for the day.

Lu - WW Swedish Meatballs, 3 bites noodles, 1 meatball. My pouch HATES Swedish Meatballs. It did not allow it to stay. Once it came up, I waited about 20 minutes and had a protein bar.

Di - 10 red grapes, slice of turkey deli meat

At my 6week appt, the doc said I should be up to a 1/2 cup of food. Is he joking?! It takes me almost an hour to even eat a protein bar.
