well, i couldnt lose weight before no matter how hard i tried...now since my first consulatation, im down from 293 to 264.4 as of last night. i lost almost 30 pounds in a few months and did nothing to lose it.
i do notice that this past year, my whole mentality changed...eating actually isnt on my list of favs and sometimes i will go without eating in a day. i feel hungry but have no desire to eat and then when i eat its at night when i have to throw something, anything down just to shut my stomach off.
somehow its like a chore and im like, um i didnt even have the operation yet dammit! i used to stress eat and now i cant even think of food when im stressed. my mom saying to me it comes with age. (note she never been above 120 pounds and she is 45, the lucky ho)
when i try to lose weight, it stays, when i dont try it goes.
wtf!
i think its all emotional. i had my consult right around my divorce. i am very happy since my divorce and so i know its not stress related.
maybe my ex was making me fat.
Congrats on your weightloss so far.
Keep in mind when you have surgery you NEED to eat - eating once a day only because your stomach is grumbly is not a good habit and one you cannot keep post-op. I would suggest once you get further in the process to work towards getting on the food schedule that your surgeon reccomends. Eating post-op is definately a chore but a necessary one... developing good eating habits pre-op will definately help with the post-op life. Part of a successful surgery is learning to eat to live, not live to eat and changing your relationship with food.... cant just avoid eating you have to 'fix' and find a happy medium with it.
It is also a possibility that your ex was making you fat. lol. :-)
First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
Total lost - 153 Since surgery - 117!
Goal weight - 155 (mine) 180 (surgeons)
Current weight - 135 (2020 I lost 10lbs due to dedicating myself to working out more and being in better shape)
1/14/2025 still maintaining 135 :-)
