...the thought of puree-ing ANYTHING is gross to me and then when I hear of people puree-ing meat, I think i want to hurl.
i hate meat, tastes like tough sponges soaked in blood no matter how much sauce i put on it and it feels like a rock when it enters my stomach and i usually find myself fasting for the next day after to rid my body of it cause it makes me feel so bloated.

(thats how i think i got so fat because i dont snack, i hate meat and all i eat is high carb food, pastas rice breads and potatoes.)

cant stand cheese either, especially cottage, ill omg! i hate yogurt, it tastes like vomit and so now im still pre-op, waiting for my pre-op class (last step till approval) and thinking, how am i gonna eat?!

so im thinking, from the days i when my daughter was a baby and i fed her gerber jars and i would taste test and they were pretty damn good, even the chicken so can i live off that for a while?

I think it will vary depending on what kind of baby food you eat - check the nutrition label to make sure they fit what your NUT wants you eating post-op. Just something to think about - you are not going to be able to live on bread, pasta, potatoes and so on post-op.  Those are the kind of things you are going to have to limit if you want to lose weight and keep it off so I think it is time to expand your horizons with food.  I'm not saying you need to go out and eat a steak, but maybe you can check out some other sources of protien like beans, tofu, and maybe protien supplements (like shakes, bars and so on) and start adding them to your diet.  Are you opposed to sea food?  That would be something else to try. Good luck!

I would say baby food is a good option, but my Nut just told me to watch the sugar content, because many will put more sugar in the baby food so that parents and kids will eat it.  I would stick with the meat/veggie combo baby food rather than the fruit ones. I found that my tastes have changed a bit since surgery and the thought of pureeing was awful, but by the time I was done with my liquid stage, I was so ready for something with some consistency that pureed foods were a blessing.  LOL. Good luck with finding options!

I was a very picky eater before my surgery, and I can tell you, since surgery my food tastes have totally changed.  Alot of foods that I liked before, I can not longer handle.  Foods that I didnt like before, I am eating every day.  It's weird, but very true and I have heard a lot of other post op's say the same things.  Don't panic, you will figure it out.

My surgeon didnt require a pureed stage, so check with yours. If yours does you will have to carefully look at the baby food to see if it would work - a lot of them are high in sugar (sadly). As for what to eat... I would make sure you go over things extra well with your NUT - there are numerous vegeterians that go thru the surgery but if you eat no meat and are limited on what dairy you will eat it will be even more of a challenge to get your required protein thru food. I would post to the main board and your surgery board to see if some other vegs/vegans can pipe in with food options for you.

well you are not kidding when you say picky eater..lol anyways..well every surgeon is different but mine said no to baby food because it contains too much sugar. what about refried beans? liquidly. also s.f. pudding, broth?, s.f popcicles. but since you do hate meat and cheese and those are both great forms of protien, i suggest you really find some protien shakes you really like, that will be your life saver. just remember if you dont get your protien in you will take longer to recover, be more fatigue and your hair will be doomed. but this is def. a question for your dr.

what do you plan on eating post-op?  More junk? Do you think you'll maintain any kind of serious weight loss eating junk?
