Ok well, I spent all of 2007 going thru tests and all and all I need left to do is my pre-op class and my phsycho eval. AND $2350...all of co-pay and fees which was the only thing stopping me. well i been dating an egyptian named mohamed for about 2 months now, and he told me last night he will give me the money...I don't know if i can take it or not. He says he wants me to be healthy and as beautiful as he knows i want to be. If I don't take the $$$ then I gotta wait to save more up...if I take it, I get my op probably by the middle of spring, and then im owing this guy. hmmmmmmmm......

I first thought - take the money! But then after thinking I dont know if I could. Youve only been dating 2 months... while the offer is generous you have to consider if you *really* want to be in debted to this person you dont really know all that well. Also, they always say never involve money with family/friends etc but it can ruin a relationship. If you do take the money what happens if you cannot pay it back right away? What if another expense comes up etc? So many things to figure out :-) Perhaps go a 1/2 and 1/2 route... save up more money and take less from him that you could easily pay back in a few months? Do you *have* to pay all your fees up front? Are you self pay? If you are going thru insurance typically places like the hospital will ask you to pay after, however the surgeons usually like their money up front. Just things to check out.

First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
Total lost - 153 Since surgery - 117!
Goal weight - 155 (mine) 180 (surgeons)
Current weight - 135 (2020 I lost 10lbs due to dedicating myself to working out more and being in better shape)

1/14/2025 still maintaining 135 :-)

I agree. At first I thought TAKE THE MONEY then I thought well see has only been with him for 2 months. I wouldnt want to take the money and then him turn into someone else and be like "you owe me" Not cool. That would suck. Plus you never know you can have a good relationship with this guy or it could end in a few months and then him be like I want my money back... Sorry not much help. Its a hard one. Goodluck!
