Hey all. So i was talking to someone at my clinic the other day and they said that its very possible, since im still young enough to have my elasticity in my skin that i could bounce back after the weight loss and not have the sagging skin. My goal is to lose around 125-130 lbs. Just wondering what y'alls experience was and everything :) thanks!

hi darling! the 10th of april will be 6 months for me. i have lost almost 80 pounds, and have very little sagging skin. i think it has to do with the way you fat "falls", if you will. like, i had no "rolls" except when i sat down, i was just like a balloon. i was big, but not "rolly" (gah, im so NOT politically correct. forgive me, please!) at least thats what the doc told me. he said anything that hangs over when your big will more than likel turn into excess skin. but i have been lucky, i think. i actually feel so good about myself that i went (are you ready for this?) to the beach in a BIKINI last weekend! YEAH! me! who would have thought... not me, 6 months ago! gah! i also hold my weight really well. i always have. but anyway, i personally have had wonderful luck with my skin, and i know if i exercised more, i would have absolutely NO excess skin. its really not even excess, its just untoned. and its only in the VERY inside of my upper thighs and in my underarm crease, so when i have my arms down at my side, you cant even see it. good luck with yours!

Hey, our names are so similar.  But my middle name is Lyn. :) Anyway, back to the topic at hand.  I am not at my goal yet so I can't completely answer your question about excess skin, but I really think everyone is different so you can never be sure.  I also think that having excess skin has a lot to do with how your weight is distributed and how things look now.  Personally I carry a lot of my extra weight in my stomach and have had flabby belly rolls for as long as I can remember!  I really doubt the skin there will ever bounce back and be tight, but how bad it will look who knows.  I think people whose weight is distributed more proportionally might not have as much trouble with skin.  Also if everything is tight and firmish now, that's probably a good sign.  But every body reacts differently.  Youth is definitely in our favor for a lot of aspects of this journey, but it still doesn't mean everything comes out perfect!!

You may not have 'saggy skin' but you will have loose skin. I was told the same thing and as more time passed realized it just wasnt going to be true... I could have spent the past 3 years saving for plastic surgery - so I suggest thats what you do. There are more factors then just age that go into how well you bounce back - many people 'recover' much better than others but there will still be areas that arnt as good as others.  Personally I still have a big hangy stomach, I also have the chicken wings... my legs came out decent, I do have some inner thigh flab but a circumfrencial TT would take care of my legs and I dont feel I would need a thigh lift, just lipo (I also have lovely saggy deflated boobs!). I already went to a PS for a consult and to have everything 'fixed' will run me around 25-40,000$. I was apple shaped as you can see by my preop pictures so I carried a lot of my weight in my belly... its where I still carry my weight - I am currently wearing a size 8 but without the belly I would easily be a size 6.

After losing 135 pounds, I'm in the same boat...my arms and inner thighs are managable, but my abdomen and man-boobs definately need some surgical intervention - which I'm still in the process of sorting out - waiting to see the surgeon who now accepts my insurance for a consult.....still don't know yet though if they will pre-approve it....

I wish my insurance would cover... where I work got bought out and we are starting a new plan in May... I was keeping my fingers crossed the new plan would cover but it has the same exclusion as the current plan :-( Looks like I will be heading to mexico! I am looking into getting Smart Lipo done on my arms, going to make a consult soon to find out more about it... somebody on OH got excellent results from it so I am keeping *fingers crossed* it would be much cheaper than getting the surgery on my arms.

Pssshh Im SKREWED! haha. I just better start saving for plastics now. I have a huge belly roll and my skin really isnt elastic especially after having a baby and my boobs.. after breastfeeding forget it. Im going to need a whole body lift.. "Sorry son, mom cant start saving for your college fund yet because she needs to put her boobs back where they belong.".....
