Big Tonsils

Ok, I have this weird fear and I'm hoping some other people can relate to this. First of all, the thought of being put to sleep terrifies me. But here's another thing...I have these huge tonsils...I'm talking HUGE. The first thing doctor's always say is "You have some big tonsils." I have this fear that they aren't going to be able to get the tube down my throat and then I won't be able to breath. Am I being ridiculous???

Okay so after reading this now i have this awkward fear too! haha. Doctors always comment on how big my tonsils are. maybe we're both being ridiculous now ;)

you aren't be ridiculous, we all go through some sort of panic before surgery. im sure that they have different size tubes, so if one doesnt fit they will have a smaller one that works... no matter what doctors dont want you to die so they will make sure that u can breathe! hope this helps

I work on an ambulance and they're are many different sizes of tubes they'll find one that works for you it's not a problem....Also i have very large tonsils and have had surgeries before and they never have a problem =)

I have worked in Emergency Medicine both in an ambulance and in an ER for years. You will be just fine :) I have seen many a 'big tonsil' folk intubated. There are different size tubes and instruments, don't have a worry hun :)
