What were you eating a month out?

I was just curious as to what people were eating at a month out. I have seen so many people eat so many different things and I am sure it just depends on your surgeons post-op instructions. Some things I thought I would not be able to eat at one month out some people are.

My dr said at 4 weeks out there was no limit as to what I could have. I know everyone is different, but that's what I've stuck to. Whether or not I want to eat it is a different story.. there's so much food I just don't even want to think about eating anymore!

I remember eating foods that were soft and light. I avoided things that could get stuck in my pouch or gum it up..things like bread, rice, chewey meats, etc...my go-to items were split pea with ham soup that I made myself extra-thick...and "proatmeal" which is just regular unflavored instant oatmeal that I flavored with SF maple syrup and splenda and added a bit of milk and a scoop or half-scoop of unflavored protein powder to boost the nutrition... p.s. - I guess no back-to-back american idol wins for glendale, huh? Oh, well Brooke White is still in it for the Valley, maybe this year it's the East Side's turn....

LOL! No I guess not. I am not an American Idol watcher but I do hear the radio conversations. The Valley's talent is coming up! :-D

At 4 weeks out I was on 'soft foods'... that included any soft meats, soft cooked fruits and veggies, dry breads (i.e. crackers). I ate chicken, ground beef, refried beans, yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese, tuna fish, shaved deli turkey, soups, any soft cooked veggies like carrots, soft fruits like splenda sweetened applesauce

I was on soft foods -and my favorite was cottage cheese (sometimes with saltine crackers that I made sure to chew the heck out of).  Some people also really like refried beans with cheese.  But more important than what others are eating, is what your surgeon wants you to eat.  Follow your surgeon's plan, they have them for a reason.  Good luck!
