Little update
After all the long months of waiting to be seen by the MGH Weight Center, things are suddenly moving right along. It's pretty exciting!
On Thursday I went in for a follow up with the physician, who told me that my team had decided that RNY was the best course of treatment. He said my blood work was "pristine" except for low vitamin D, so he prescribed me a supplement - 50,000 units a week for 8 weeks, and then 1000 per day after that, forever and ever, amen.
So tomorrow I'm going back in to Boston to attend the surgical orientation seminar, hopefully learn a lot, and see if I have a preference for a surgeon. Then all I have to do is call the surgical schedulers and begin my 8 week pre-op phase, and keep my fingers crossed that my insurance approves the surgery quickly.
I just can't believe how quickly the ball has gotten rolling, because it felt like such a long time while I was considering WLS, trying to get a referral to the program, waiting six months to be seen... did any of you feel this way?

I remember the feeling of being caught in a whirlwind once things got started...at first I couldn't wait, then, suddenly, there just wasn't enough time to prepare...there was just so much information and preparation and SHOPPING to do in such a short period of time...
But the amazing thing is that everything has just stayed "better" since surgery...after all the stress and uncertainty, everything just fell into place beautifully...I not only feel better, but AM a better person than when i started this journey...
so enjoy and commit to memory every step of this journey, because there will be a day when you wake up, look at your new life and ask "wow...how the hell did I get here?!"
