ugh this is so frustrating!  I've been doing great since I've been home.  I didnt have any pain meds all day.  Now, tonight, I CANNOT get comfortable.  I just wish I could be in my bed, sprawled out on my stomach.  This sucks!

You had RNY, right?  Yeah, I'm sorry. but I can't offer any pain suggestions.  I had LAP BAND and didn't have any pain. I hope you got some sleep though.  And I hope the pain subsided. Take care!

Its ok to take some meds to go to sleep.  Good job on going all day long without any!  That is probably the reason you're so uncomfy now, though... all day you were active and now you're resting.

If you need the meds, take them, no shame in that.  Are you trying to sleep laying down?  For the first month after my RNY I slept in a recliner and that really helped me be comfortable.  If you haven't tried that yet, see if a recliner or sleeping propped up on pillows will be more comfortable for you.  I hope you are able to get comfy soon!

It's far past last night, but for future reference.  I had a really hard time getting to sleep after surgery (had the sleeve) and didn't want to take my pain meds, but doctor and others said it's better to take them to get a good nights sleep since that is when your body heals the most, sooo take them! Good luck and hope it gets better..

Thanks guys!  I finally did get to sleep last night, Loritab induced!  I just didn't have bad enough pain to take anything throughout the day, so I thought, hey, this rocks!  I guess I did just need something to take the edge off.  I am sleeping in a big chaise with lots of pillows that is usually comfy as hell!  I guess it was just a bad moment.  Mom came in and rearranged everything lol.  I'm good today though.  Still virtually no pain.  If I have the same problem tonight, I'll know what to do!

I remember having two nights like that.  Around 7 to 8 days out it didn't hurt to lay on my side with a pillow tucked up under my belly.  Maybe that might help.  Still haven't made it to my stomach yet!

I remember that feeling. I would get up and walk circles in my living room. I was living in an apartment at the time and I'm sure my downstairs neighbors hated me. For me, I just had to move. I'd take pain medication and just walk in circles until I couldn't keep my eyes open. It does suck, but it will totally be worth it! Take care! L
