TALLER since WLS?!

OK...I've lost 94# as of this week...and at my physical last week both my doctor and her nurse measured my height at 6 FEET!!! How did I just grow an inch??!! I thought they were measuring my hair or doing it wrong, so we did it several times, but each time, 6 FEET!!! I'm flabberghasted!!!...my doc laughed at me for being so shocked by it, but apparently without all the extra weight and pressure on my spine and joints, I am able to stand at my full height...6 FEET TALL!!! I think this is the strangest of all my wow moments so far...my WLS has cancelled gravity on me!! ...so, naturally, in my records, my BMI is being adjusted accordingly, but for me, on my ticker I am keeping everything where it is to rflect my actual weight loss progress correctly...but WOW!!! scary huh? xxxBecca

wow becca you grew, i shrunk...lol i was 5'3 now after 2 years i shrunk 2 inches....now im 5'1! its nuts

First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
Total lost - 153 Since surgery - 117!
Goal weight - 155 (mine) 180 (surgeons)
Current weight - 135 (2020 I lost 10lbs due to dedicating myself to working out more and being in better shape)

1/14/2025 still maintaining 135 :-)

That's awesome! maybe your weight was making you slouch? lol Maybe I can magically gain 1.5 inches and finally be 5'9" like I always wanted LOL

for sure...my doc said that the extra weight can cause the spine and joints to be compressed and as the weight comes off, the pressure is relieved and your body will stand taller...lol...crazy huh?? if you dont get any taller, I'll loan you the inch! xxxbecca

Jeeeeeeeeez. I just went for my physical last week - I was curious to see what height I would come up at... taller because I had better posture - or shorter because my foot fat was gone... I was the same height thou - better than shrinking!
