Eatin' Good in the 20's Neighborhood - Satuday

Howdy 20-somethings! I have had a rough Satuday.  The lump on my belly has made moving around really painful.  It is painful enough that the hydrocodone I'm taking barely takes the edge off.  I'm thinking about trying to get in to my surgeon's office sooner than Thursday.  I was trying to wait until Thursday because I wouldn't have to miss class if I went then, but I'm not so sure I want to be so uncomfortable until Thursday...well...who knows.  I hope your Saturday has been better than mine! 9am - 6 oz decaff coffee, 6 oz steamed skim milk, 1 oz sf hazelnut davinci syrup 10 oz water 11am - 1 ka****LC honey almond flax granola bar 20 oz water 3pm - 5 oz chicken lo mein (mostly chicken and the veggies...) 10 oz water 6pm - I wanted something pizza-esque but we don't have any pizza in the house...however I had pepperoni from the deli, provalone cheese slices, shredded mozerella cheese, white cheddar garlic and chive cheese curds, some spaghetti sauce and french bread cubes...so in a glass baking dish I layered pepperoni, then provalone cheese slices, then spaghetti sauce, and a sprinkling of garlic cheese curds, topped with french bread cubes cumbled up in to little pieces, and then topped with shredded mozerella cheese and more pepperoni.  I popped it in the oven until the cheese was brown and bubbly.  It was DELICIOUS!  Kind of like a noodle-less pizza lasagna.  Mmmmm. I'll probably have another serving of my pepperoni/cheese concoction before bed.   How are things out there?

I'm so sorry to hear about your belly!  I really hope you can see your doc sooner than later. Saturday was another weird day but at least I made an effort. B - ham and cheese omlette L - 1/2 a Myoplex shake - Mocha Latte (21g protein for 1/2!) D - about 2oz steak from Longhorn and maybe 1oz baked potato innards (I was sharing with my aunt).  It was so weird watching everyone eat their salads, and bread, and then the steak and sides.  Not pigging out, I just mean a normal amount a normal person would have at a restaurant.  Bread is (was) my nemesis but it wasn't too terrible resisting it at dinner.  I knew if I ate it there would be no room for protein which I was lacking for the day so it helps to think about it logically.  Then I don't feel deprived. After dinner we went to a friends b-day party at a country/western bar.  It was the first time I've been to one because country is so not my thing.  It was cool watching people do all these line dances but I have zero coordination so I know it's not for me lol.  Anyway, everyone else was drinking and once again, it was strange being the odd man out.  In the past it might have depressed me but it just made me think this time, and be reflective.  So what, I can't drink (you know what I mean).  But that's so insignificant in the grand scheme of things.  Hopefully this little stuff stops bothering me as time goes on.

"Hopefully this little stuff stops bothering me as time goes on." - I think it will.  It IS weird to see people eat "normally".  I sometimes feel sick when I watch Kyle polish off an entire pizza (the skinny little brat, who will never gain a pound from it), so it makes sense that it would seem bigger to you since it is a new feeling.  It is good that you are being logical about it, just keep doing that - it isn't a big thing that you can't drink in the long run, it might be for the moment, but not for the long run.  You're in the tough part.  You'll be mouring food and building new habits - but it is a good thing.  If you need me, I'm here and happy to listen and help if I can.  Send me a message any time.
