New here....
I am new here, starting this journey. I recently switched family dr's and saw her today! She was super super supportive and is getting the wheels moving on the surgery.
I am 28 years old, married with a 3 year old dd. I am 5'3" and weigh 255lbs!
So now what happens? She told me I would get a packet in the mail and then start my 6 month supervised "diet"
Thanks for any help or insight in advance!
Jessica
Jessica,
Read my blogs on my profile page. I am in the last month of my 6 month diet and it literally feels like it was yesterday when I started. I honestly thought this time would never come though. Congratulations on starting this incredible process. Before long we'll be welcoming you to the loser's bench and that's a good thing. Welcome to the 20's Board!
Welcome to the 20's board Jessica! What happens next really varries from surgeon to surgeon, but it looks to me like you've got 6 months of diet to worry about first. Your surgeon may or may not require nutritional classes. My suggestion is to call your insurance company and ask for a specific list of what things they require before they will agree to cover your weight loss surgery. That way you can use the 6 months of diet time to get the other stuff taken care of as well. Good luck!
