I am 5 years post op.  My Gyno just prescribed me Loestrin 24 I have been on the patch but my surgeon gave me the go ahead for any pill.  I am 27 and had been on the patch for 5 years.  Has anyone had any experience with this pill.  Any help would be appreciated!!

I dont have experience with this pill... I know it is a low-dose BC thou... I just switched from taking lo-ogestrel which is another low-dose BC... I saw my OB in jan and asked about the seasonique which I started last month - I noticed a huge surge in my libido about a week after switching... its been a complete difference than when I was on the lo-ogestrel.  I did a quick search and it seems the loestrin may be a different formula than the lo-ogestrel... just something to keep an eye on either way!

Hi, there! I was so disappointed when my gyno made me switch off the patch. I loved it. She moved me to a low hormone pill initially which made me incredibly moody. I was basically PMSing constantly with insane mood swings. I called her and she switched me to a high dose pill because apparently the patch has excessively high hormones and it was just too extreme. Everyone is different, so you may be just fine. I just wanted to share my experience with you. Keep an eye on your moods. If you feel yourself being unusually moody, I suggest switching to a higher dose pill. Cheers! L

I use the nuva ring, and that seems to work fine for me.. I know some people have had slippage problems with it.. but I like it.. zero mood swings, zero side effects... it's been really great thus far :)
