questions for us young..ins!!
So i just stumbled across the weight loss in your 20s board Im so glad they have one for differant ages. Ive been wondering how everyone has done since we are younger than alot patients. My doc says that because of that we will do better(less excess skin hair loss ect ect has that been true for all you 20somethings? and any advice for me im so excited march 4th woohoooo
Can't speak to excess skin as I'm still 55 lbs away from goal, but at 5 months out and 100lbs gone, it isn't an issue yet. I've had no noticeable hair loss. The key, as I understand it, is to get your daily intake of water (64 oz), protein (80 - 100g), and vitamins.
Congratulations on your date this Tues and good luck!
Welcome!! I can't speak for the excess skin yet because I am still not close to goal, but I hope that it won't be too bad! As for the hair loss, I am 3 1/2 months out and just in the past couple weeks I have noticed it. I don't feel like I am going bald, but I definitely shed a LOT more. I also feel like my hair is noticeably thinner, but fortunately I had pretty thick hair to begin with. I am very good with protein, water and my vitamins. Sometimes I think it just happens no matter how good you are. But others say they never experienced any hair loss. I'm not sure how dependent on age this is.
Anyway, again welcome to the board and good luck on your upcoming surgery!
YAY congratulations!!!!! are u nervous?! i wus!! haha i too was just told about this board....got my ass chewed up on the main board for askin a drinking question.....guess old people think we are alcoholics cuz we like to have a drink with our friends every now an then....ANYWAYS....
i will give u a tip of advice.....as much as there are many good issues on these boards...DO NOT listen to what everyone has to say. i made that mistake. {well it wusnt a mistake but more of an awakening} i am 6months out and i had a significant amount of hair loss!! to the point where i would not want to shower cuz that is where i seen it the most! {i showered however....i think its gross if u dont! haha} there is nuthinnnnnng u can do it about, it is going to happen regardless of what u do. Take ur biotin and eat ur protein....around 40g is what my dr said.....i actually JUST went to her for my 6mnth check up and i wus freaking out cus i wasnt gettin the 70-100g evryone on here seems to get. she told me that for THAT reason alone is why she duznt care for these help boards. as long as i atleast get in my 40 i will be fine! mind u if u can find a protein shake that u like its much easier to get the protein in....im the unfortunate one who cant stand the taste of many things...so im a fussy one. but i did find a SNICKERS protein bar that has 21g and taste AMAZING. so that is my oomph of protein. Take peoples advice on here....ull find alot of recipes and differnt techniques.....but ultimately just do what ur dr says to.
GOOD LUCK!!! oh and im going to for warn u.....taking the drain out.....HURTS LIKE A *****! haha outa the whole entire thing....that actually made me cry! so make sure u take that burst of pain killer be4 they take it out.
feel free to ask anything else.....always willing to be honest with people
um no. They get paid to do their jobs for a reason......and i think if they were wrong they wouldnt have stayed in buisness for 20yrs... im not sayin that 70-100 is WRONG im just sayin that its very hard to get that in a day if u are not drinking protein powder of some sort.....so as i questioned it the dr said that 40g is a healthy amount to not fret over trying to consume soo much. do u know how much of a pain in the ass it is to always be worrying about what ur gonna put in ur mouth cus u have to make sure its high in protein to get u threw the day?! it SUCKS. but now that i found 40 normal.....its much more easier. thats all.
I absolutely agree, follow your doctor, nutritionist, or other medical professional's orders first. And, while some people will have hair loss others will not. Some people develop complications, others do not. Someone asked a question, and I responded by relating my personal experience. Not trying to advocate anything or give advice or say there is a right or wrong answer.
