Acne/Bad Skin..also wound care.

Hey guys! I have a question for some of yall that are on the losers bench. I have a pretty bad case of bacne, just scabby, ugly, not so healthy looking sores on my back. Nothing serious, just from wearing tight clothes, sweating, from my "rolls rubbing" etc..I am thinking of going to a specialist for this to get some kind of cleanser or what not. My dad tells me that once I lose weight it will probably go away...but im not sure. Does anyone have experience with this? Also, i am 6 days post-op for lap rny. I have the main incision and 5 staples (might be 6). I have a hard time sleeping since I usually sleep on my stomach. The wound is filled with gauze and gets changed 2 times per day. How long do i have to keep changing the gauze for? and when the staples come out, Will I feel a little more comfortable? Thanks all

I'm not sure about the bacne issue, but before you try an expensive dermatologist visit, just start with an antibacterial soap and loofa on a stick and see if that helps....as for the gauze situation you should continue to clean and pack it as directed and eventually it will close...finally the staples thing...you will feel much better once they are out (less pulling when you move around) and try sleeping either in a semi-sitting position or you could try to place several pillows under your stomach although that didnt work for me...good luck!

I hate to admit it, but I had (have?) a bit of body acne from like you said the rolls and also working out almost every day.  Also, it's hot in Florida!  lol  Anyway, I have found as my weight has gone down it has improved.  Dunno why but it has.  I've also had luck with Neutrogena body clear body wash.  Like someone else said, try a loofah on a stick or a back brush to make sure you can reach all of your back. Sorry, can't help with the staples, I didn't have them.  But changing the dressings daily sounds hygienic to me.

That happens to a lot of people! Have you tried different treatments/creams? My skin got better after wls! (maybe its cuz i've always used creams and stuff or maybe i'm just lucky!) GOOK LUCK!
