Oooh oooh ME!  LOL  I have no life.  At least until next Tuesday when I go back to work As for me, I had a very weird day.  I decided to try ricotta cheese with spaghetti sauce heated up.  Eh.  It was alright.  Later I had some pureed clam chowder.  Mmm grainy.  Then I had a bit of Gatorade though not nearly enough.  Later, I went to my first restaurant since surgrey (well, the first time I've been to one and actually ordered something).  I had all the "soupy" part from pasta fagiole plus two noodles, a few carrots, and a bean.  It was all pretty mushy and I chewed really well.  I know it's not in my "stage" but I really needed to eat because it had been a while.  Without thinking, I ordered an unsweet tea also and was sipping on that.  I left feeling extremely full and tired.  And this is why I always measure everything at home.  Ah well.  About an hour ago, I had most of a chocolate/coffee/hazelnut protein drink and I'm getting tired of them.  I want my new flavor syrups to get here soon.  I need to go to Vitamin Shoppe and get some new flavors of powder.  I will be having something else later tonight but have no idea what. I did walk for 30 minutes on a VERY soft beach today though.  I got worn out.  It was really hilly and there was a big slope to the ocean.

It was probably the eating / drinking at the same time that did it to you.  Any post-op who can stick to nasty protien drinks is a trooper in my book.  Protien drinks, blech.  I gave them up on like the 2nd day home from the hospital.  Bad Amy.    So good for you for sticking with them. Don't go wearing yourself out now.  It is awesome that you've been up and moving, but you did just have major surgery.  Take care of yourself! PS - Thanks for volunteering to do the thread - I knew I could count on you.

lol I must be immune to the protein-y taste.  I don't like the way they coat my mouth and make my breath ick(er, thanks ketosis).  I'm sipping alternately with water.  Can't wait for some meat! I will not be making the mistake of drinking at the same time again.  Old habits die hard, eh? I've been feeling guilty about not walking as much as I should so I knew a walk at the beach would be nice.  Wasn't expecting so much fresh sand.  They must have recently replenished it.  I promise to take care of myself!  My tube is giving me fits of paid but I hear this is normal.  Two more weeks with this stupid contraption!  At least I don't have to use it every 3 hours anymore.

Oooh I'm jealous lol. Out of curiosity, are you having 4 TEASPOONS or 4 TABLESPOONS per meal?  I was curious because I was told to have 2-3 oz which is 4-6 tablespoons of liquidy stuff.  Now I'm wondering if I misunderstood LOL.  4 teaspoons seems really tiny.

In the paperwork from my surgeons office for this current stage it says:

2tbsp over 25min 3x a day...

I am also supposed to be drinking my protein shakes 2x a day (up to 6oz at a time) - but I can't do it...maybe I should be eating a little more at a time?

Hmm that's very interesting how different all our surgeons are.  Mine allows protein shakes but he said he prefers our protein to come from "real food".  Once I can eat meats and cheese that will be easier for me but until then I have to supplement with the supplement lol. I have heard surgeons can make pouches of different sizes.  I'm sure there's a reason he's having you follow that plan so I'd stick to it unless you talk to him and he says to do otherwise.
