congrats for all the hurdles you have made it through. My consult with the doctor was actually before a lot of the stuff you had to do (I havent been to a surgery session, and didn't talk to a primary care doc) but yeah, we're around the same part in the process. which procedure are you thinking about, or are you waiting for the surgeons opinions?
I'm going to have the RNY, I've done most of the research on that, and that is the one that appeals to me the most. What one were you looking into doing?
I've noticed that different places do things in different orders...but things seem to be moving along rather quickly. I'm hoping my labs are in the mail today so I can go and get those done tomorrow. I'm leaving town for a week, and would like to have that taken care of before I go. :)
I'm looking into lap-band moreso, but it's still possible that I will go for RNY. My doctor does both. The labs are crazy extensive... I wish I knew whether I was already approved for insurance, and when I could schedule a date. I should have ansked those questions though.
my parents like the lap-band a lot more. that was a huge factor in my decision. part of me is worried though and likes the quick results that rny shows.
I hope your surgeon appointment goes well. I recommend asking him how long he's been practicing, and how many complications he's had. My doctor was very forthcoming with that info, and it's good to know when your in the hands of a surgeon who is competent (or isn't, you want to know that more).
keep me updated too!
